Statement of Beliefs

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. We look to Scripture for truth and do not rely on personal experiences for our basis of doctrine.

 

WE BELIEVE that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.

 

WE BELIEVE that Jesus is fully God and yet became a man to save mankind from their sin. We believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. We believe that He is the propitiation for the sins of mankind through His suffering and death on the cross. We believe that Jesus died and rose again on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and has sent the Holy Spirit to fill believers for His kingdom work.

 

WE BELIEVE that there is only one true God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

 

WE BELIEVE that salvation is possible only through the Person of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit draws and convicts sinful men and women to repentance and total faith in Christ.

 

WE BELIEVE that marriage is a union between one man and one woman and that from the beginning of creation, God created humans in two distinct sexes, male and female.

 

WE BELIEVE that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. This includes pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

 

WE BELIEVE that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor align with Pocono Mountain Christian School’s beliefs.
